The verdict

A standard Langstroth is the stronger choice when lowest entry cost, universal parts, and an already-established workflow outweigh equipment performance. The difference is not one material specification. It is conductive loss, excess envelope, divided brood, leaking joints, condensation, disruptive inspections, and comb rebuilding—seven separate costs the colony pays before productive work begins.
